Nottingham College 1 Year Acting Foundation – in Association with ALRA

This Foundation Course at Nottingham College is designed to refine skills in preparation for drama school or university. This course is endorsed by ALRA with elements of the Foundation course.

With classes in acting, voice, devising and producing theatre and projects during the year, students will get a taste of what vocational training is like. Other aspects of the course include local and National theatre trips, learning how to review performance and insight of current industry trends, and visiting industry professionals who will share their experience. The course is taught by tutors with a wealth of industry experience and knowledge who will help you explore different texts, periods and genres of theatre, and support your creative process as you devise your own work.

'We are really excited to be working with ALRA to run this new Foundation Course here at Nottingham College.

Students will experience excellent teaching from Industry Professionals in key areas in order to prepare them for full time Drama School training. Focusing on vocal and physical development as actors, as well as specific training in Acting for Screen and Audition technique, the course will culminate in a full scale production in one of our professional theatre spaces.

Nottingham College is a superb place to study with a long held reputation for the training of actors. Ex students are currently on accredited BA Acting Courses at ALRA, LIPA, Bristol Old Vic, Arts Ed, Manchester Met, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and East 15. Nottingham is a vibrant and diverse city with a lively student population, which makes it a great place to live and study.

We are offering this course as a BTEC Higher National Certificate, which means that students will gain a Level 4 vocational qualification on completion of the course.'
