Confused.com robot Brian is Jannik Archer

We're pleased to reveal... the little American fella, Brian the Robot from the Confused.com campaign; who no doubt you’ve seen on your screens, radios, sides of buses... basically everywhere is the voice of 2010 graduate, Jannik Archer! What a great job to get!

Double good news as he was also cast as Caliban in The Tempest at the Courtyard Theatre; funnily enough directed by another ALRA graduate, Alice Sillett. The show ran from 15th July – 3rd August 2015 at the Cockpit Theatre, London.

Well done Jannik, we’re awful proud of you. Now just to stop the sound of Brian the Robot haunting my dreams.

UPDATE:

The Drum marketing magazine recently published a video to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the very first TV ads in UK. An advert for Gibbs SR toothpaste was broadcast into 100,000 British homes on the 22nd of September 1955, on ITV. Guess which is the number one TV ad chosen by the Drum staff: it's Brian the robot floating among the stars.

An actor's career is made out of many small steps and achievemen. For ALRA Alumus Jannik Archer to provide the voice for Brian the robot, was probably a much bigger opportunity that our alumni could have ever predicted. The Drum chose Brian from the confused.com ads and it's fast become an iconic, pop-culture symbol of our country.

Jannik is currently busy with new productions and we look forward to the chance to see him on TV and cinema soon. We wish him all the best for his future where we can look back and view his role in this TV ad as the first light of a bright star.
