Bronwyn James in Hangmen

Bronwyn James

ALRA Alumna Bronwyn James was signed with Tim Scott Personal Management immediately after finishing training – within 1 month of being signed, she landed a role in the Royal Court production of Hangmen with other critically acclaimed actors such as Reece Shearsmith, Simon Rouse, John Hodgkinson and Sally Rogers.

After only one fantastically successful month at the Royal Court, the show including Bronwyn transferred to the West End and Wyndham’s Theatre where it is still currently running and continuing to garner four and five star reviews. Read the reviews here

  • Bronwyn James as ‘our Shirley’ deserves a mention for her fantastic comic timing and portrayal of the hormonal teenage daughter drawn in by an older man.
  • Bronwyn James makes a striking debut as the hangman’s daughter: awkward, anxious and easy prey.

You’ve had a cast change. How has that affected the play?

I had the pleasure of seeing the excellent final year shows of the ALRA students. ALRA standards are very high and so everyone on stage was great, but a couple stood out, one of whom was Ryan Clayton. Ryan brings a whole new energy to the part and makes lots of different choices to those that the original Karl made.
