Chris Ashby & Raj Bajaj

In 2011 we reported on some of our Graduates who had already started to make their mark even before they had graduated.

There was Stephanie Winiecki who had secured a part in the ensemble of the National Theatre’s production of Emperor and Galilean. Since then she has gone on to greater things and can be seen in the DVD release of the big screen adaptation of the BBC spy series Spooks. Entitled Spooks: The Greater Good, this glossy big-screen version of the popular TV series loses none of its nail-biting action and brisk storylines.

Chris Ashby was down in Cornwall filming Doc Martin with Martin Clunes. Chris played Harry, a pallbearer who had a very interesting back condition. He has also been seen in Holby City, Skins and New Tricks. Chris will be appearing in the 2016 release of the film Fallen.

Raj Bajaj was awarded the Sir Alec Guinness Award Bursary presented to him at the ceremony by the delightful Celia Imrie (Calendar Girls, Acorn Antiques, etc). He has since gone on to appear in productions for the Royal Court and the RSC. For the former he appeared in The Djinns of Eidgah, playing the role of Khalid, a 21 year old Kashmiri boy who loves football but has a burning passion for his home country and the way it is being run.

For the RSC he appeared in Much Ado About Nothing at Stratford-upon-Avon and transferred to the West End. For National Theatre Live he played Job Anderson in Treasure Island. He has been seen on television in The Garden, Doctors and Doctor Who, in which he played George in the episode Flatline. Currently he is in the West End again at the Phoenix Theatre in the hit musical Bend It Like Beckham.
