Kate Gwynn & Vicky Sheldon set up their drama educational workshop business

kateKate Gwynn and Vicky Sheldon, ALRA MA Graduates, have set up a drama educational workshop business and have had some excellent feedback form teachers and children. Aimed to enhance and encourage the natural creativity of children they work with schools and groups to bring out children’s imaginative ideas through drama.Vicky Headshot WEB

Natasha Davidson wins Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the Manchester Theatre Awards

natashaNatasha Davidson won Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her performance in A View from the Bridge at Bolton Octagon at the Manchester Theatre Awards.

22 current ALRA North students also played a number of parts in Bolton Octagon’s production of An Enemy of the People, which won Best Production at the Manchester Theatre Awards. David Thacker, the director specifically thanked and mentioned ALRA in his acceptance speech.

The show starred other ALRA grads: Maria Major, Amelia Twiddle and Kate Huntsman. 

Coal Girls is a funny story that gives insight into the lives of The Ashington Group miners’ wives and girlfriends. The premise of this play is as much as funny as true:

The story written by ALRA's very own Rachel is inspired by ‘The Pitmen Painters’ by Lee Hall which is based on the true story of The Ashington Group.
