Acting Principal

Kieran Sheehan is the Acting Principal at ALRA having previously been Vice Principal Curriculum with responsibility and oversight of academic vision, training and partnership development. He has taught movement to actors since graduating from the first MA Movement Studies cohort at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Currently in the fourth year of his educational doctorate: Witnessing the Professional Self through Intuitive Movement and Imagination supervised by Porfessor Pam Burnard at Cambridge University and Dr Christine Edward Leis at St. Marys University, he regularly presents for the Cambridge University Arts (Science) and Creativities Research Group and has presented at Cambridge Doctorate Festival (2020), St. Marys University Festival of Teaching and Learning (2019), Advance HE Teaching and Learning Festival (2019) and Liverpool Hope Doctorate Festival (2019). As a movement director, Kieran developed productions and projects at the RSC, Glyndebourne Opera, Home, National Theatre, Opera North and Royal Festival Hall and has received awards from Dance Digital, Bonnie Bird Choreography Fund and Arts Council England supporting his dance theatre and choreography. He has co-created many community initiatives centred on the profundity of physical expression and the possibility of connectivity this offers. Kieran has been a proud Board member of Resonate Arts since 2018.
